Schedule Information: Monday through Friday with occasional evening and week end hours.

Hours per Week: 37.5

Work Conditions: Work is primarily indoor. Requires travel between campus sites. Must have reliable transportation to travel between all Harper campuses when necessary.

Duties of Position: Responsible for routine technical support of AED classroom software and hardware, testing and instruction.  Provides first level problem determination of hardware and software. Partners with Information Technology to maintain the technology used in the Learning and Career Center (LCC), Community Resource Center (formerly POC), and Main Campus TABE testing software.  Acts as a liaison between the AED Department and Information Technology/Client Services for special projects.

Reports computer issues from LCC and POC to the IT department. Troubleshoots when possible.

Evaluates the user functionality of software upgrades for future operating system compatibility.

Provides software testing assistance for upgrades to appropriate AED software.

Organizes, maintains, and coordinates computer software collection for four sites.

Organizes and develops system to assist students in maintaining electronic recordkeeping access using College approved communications.

Organizes the instructional materials as they are used each semester by instructors at multiple sites.

Assists with the pre and post computerized testing of AED students.

Processes technology requests for ordering instructional and testing computerized purchases.

Participates in ongoing training regarding use of new computer hardware and software.

Participates in AED Department or Information Technology Department meetings for the purpose of discussing project status, advanced technology, Help Desk procedures, and cross training.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements: Associates Degree required.

Experience Requirements: One year’s experience in an adult education or English as a Second Language program preferred. Must be familiar and comfortable with technology
