Limited Duration Appointment 

The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc. (UTFI) is seeking an Advancement Assistant I at the University of Tennessee Knoxville in the College of Engineering. Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Development, the Advancement Assistant I will provide administrative support to the Development officers. Duties include but may not be limited to, communications including preparing proposals and proofing gift agreements, drafting letters, writing and preparing content for website, emails, and marketing materials for the department and college. The Advancement Assistant I researches information on donors and assists with department events including homecoming, football game guests, scholarship events, and donor lunches. Additionally, the Advancement Assistant I supports 5 development officers with administrative and travel needs including arrangements and processing reimbursements. This position will also partially support the Donor Relations & Stewardship Assistant Director with completion of stewardship activities, including but not limited to ThankView videos, endowment reporting, and various stewardship communications from the college to donors, as well as some data maintenance and entry.

This is a limited duration appointment (LDA) position for an initial appointment not to exceed twelve (12) months.  This position may be reviewed for extension for an additional twelve (12) months contingent on funding of the project and satisfactory performance.



Qualifications
Qualifications: HS with minimum of 3 years of administrative experience or business/technical school graduate with 1-2 years office experience. BS with 1 year acceptable. Internships related to advancement would be counted as part-time experience. Candidate will possess strong organizational skills as well as superior customer service, and demonstrate computer proficiency including MS Office (particularly Excel). The ideal candidate will be highly supportive of and committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

 

Skills: The preferred candidate will have the ability to multi-task, work independently to meet deadlines, use considerable judgment in supporting and working with a diverse group of staff as well as the donors. Experience with ANDI, Adobe, SAP (IRIS) or similar software is a plus. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality, be detail oriented and a positive image of the department as well as the UT Foundation.
