Summary of Duties:
Coordinate daily operations and provide excellent customer service and risk management for the 250,000 square foot Compton Union Building. Responsible to recruit, hire, train, evaluate and develop a student staff that will deliver meeting and event support services for over 5,100 reservations and an average of 12,000 daily visits annually for the Compton Union Building. Assist with the development and management of a budget of over $450,000 for building operations and event services.
This person will be responsible for the hiring, training, evaluation, and supervision of a variety of student staff positions including: Building Managers and Event Set-Up staff for the Compton Union Building (40 temporary). This individual will additionally be responsible for coordinating student staff development for all CUB Administration student staff.
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Some travel may be required.
Candidate must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license by the time of hire.
Some evening and/or weekend work may be required.
Master’s degree in Education Administration, Management, or related field.
More than four (4) years of facility operation management experience.
Budget management experience.
Experience in personnel training and supervision.
Experience developing, planning, and presenting training sessions for large, diversified staff.
Experience in Collegiate/University or Student Union event planning.
Experience with building control system, lighting control system and A/V control system.
