Adjunct Faculty - World Languages - Spanish

Summer Term - 8 week online course

Adjunct Faculty Instructors in the Social Sciences, Education and World Languages Division are responsible for providing instruction and formatively and summatively assessing student learning.

Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Adjunct Faculty prepare course syllabi and design lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to address different learning styles and ensure that students successfully meet the course objectives and outcomes. They also incorporate learning centered principles and concepts and motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational experience.

Adjunct Faculty are responsible for student evaluation as well as timely and accurate reporting such as attendance verifications, academic progress, and final course grades. They also provide leadership in program promotion as well as support student success initiatives.

Waubonsee offers courses in a variety of delivery modes including, but not limited to, face-to-face, online, synchronous online, and hybrid at four campuses throughout the district – Sugar Grove, Aurora Downtown, Aurora Fox Valley, and Plano.

An Adjunct Faculty position requires a professional with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning. Successful Adjunct Faculty employ a holistic approach to student success, bring passion and enthusiasm to the classroom, and are collaborative with students and colleagues.

Courses meet between June 14, 2021 and August 8, 2021.

Summer Spanish sections, at Waubonsee, include: Elementary Spanish I, Elementary Spanish II, Intermediate Spanish I and Intermediate Spanish II

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Spanish preferred or master’s degree in related field and 18 graduate credit hours in Spanish language coursework.
