Position Summary:

Some teaching responsibilities may be at off-site locations and/or during evening hours. Position is primarily located on the main WCU Cullowhee, NC campus.

The School of Economics, Management, and Project Management, one of three schools in the College of Business, invites applications for a nine-month fixed term faculty position in Management beginning in August of 2021. Rank will be instructor. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach in at least two of the following areas: business statistics, quantitative methods, and operations management. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until a candidate has been selected for hire.

A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to contribute to the mission of the department programs in providing students with the skills needed to address the challenges of contemporary business. A demonstrated record of achievement in teaching at the college or university level is preferred. The expected teaching load is 24 semester hours per academic year. Some teaching responsibilities may be at off-site locations and/or during evening hours.

This position requires teaching both online and face-to-face courses, advising, and service activities as designated by the School director. Moreover, the successful candidate must be willing to meet the AACSB accreditation requirements regarding qualification of college of business faculty.

Minimum Qualifications:

At a minimum, the applicant must have a master’s degree and have completed 18 graduate credit hours in management and quantitative methods courses from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Ph.D. or ABD in an appropriate business field or a terminal degree in a closely related business field from an AACSB-accredited institution is desirable.

Applicants who are ABD with a dissertation defense date and completion of all degree requirements on or before August 31, 2021, will be considered.
