A Senior Associate on Georgetown's internal business consulting team will be responsible for managing all aspects of initiatives sponsored by senior leadership and intended to increase efficiency, improve university-wide processes and practices, and result in optimal service delivery to Georgetown constituents. For these initiatives, the Senior Associate is expected to perform any or all of the following activities:
- Analyze and document business processes and recommend improvements
- Develop business cases and provide expert financial analysis
- Manage the approval process for recommended initiatives
- Develop detailed project plans for implementation
- Serve as project manager through completion
To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess demonstrable experience in Business Process Analysis, Business Case Development, Financial Analysis and Project Management. The candidate should be able to manage multiple simultaneous complex projects. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in data analysis, benchmarking research, managing cross-functional matrix teams, exploring creative solutions, leading change management efforts and fostering collaboration.
Due to the breadth and variety of assignments received by the internal business consulting team, our Associates must be excited by the challenge of learning new areas of higher education, enjoy working independently, be willing to quickly self-educate in order to lead new initiatives and have a passion for education and service.
The Georgetown internal business consulting team provides analysis and leadership of key initiatives across the university. As a valued internal consulting resource, the group possesses skills and expertise in business process analysis, project management, business planning and financial analysis which are leveraged for a wide-variety of university needs. While providing services across the university, this team is part of Financial Affairs and reports to the AVP of Financial Strategy and Business Integration.
- Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred
- 5-7 years of proven experience in any combination of:
- Business process analysis, engineering and improvement
- Project management & team leadership, particularly leading matrix teams
- Financial analysis and business case development
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to think strategically
- Strong time management, organizational, planning and multitasking skills
- Ability to independently manage a dynamic portfolio initiatives
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Strong MS Excel, process mapping, presentation and word processor skills
- Knowledge of higher-education administration processes, practices and systems a plus
