DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To plan, organize, and supervise custodial services and personnel engaged in the general cleaning of campus facilities, establish schedules, train and instruct custodial employees in established work methods and procedures. Employee in this classification receives limited supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures. This job class is responsible for the supervision, training and instruction of custodial employees and for ensuring that custodial operations and services meet the standards and needs of the District.
CLASSIFICATION: Range 15 on the Administrative Confidential Salary Schedule, 40 hours per week, 6:00 p.m. - 2:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. Friday, 12 months per year.
SUPERVISOR: Director of Physical Plant of designee
BENEFITS: Holiday, vacation and sick time will be provided. This is a Classified Administrator position with a default CALPERS retirement.

Typical Duties, Knowledge and Ability
Completion of twelfth grade or equivalent. Five years of custodial and general building maintenance experience, of which at least two years includes supervisory responsibilities.

New Administrative Appointments will be placed at the step 1 on the Administrative Salary Schedule and will graduate to the next step on July 1st of the following year if they have rendered 6 months of satisfactory service, with subsequent steps annually thereafter to a maximum fifth step.
Salary placement would only be negotiable if the candidate held the same position with another community college and step 2 or 3 would be the maximum considered depending on the number of years of service.
