Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary
Facilitate fitness initiatives designed to promote healthy lifestyle changes for the KSU employee population. Manages the daily operation of the Employee Fitness Center (EFC).

Responsibilities
1. Manages the daily operations of the EFC including recruiting, training, and managing staffing needs, maintaining budgetary parameters, promoting membership, and analyzing usage reports
2. Plans, develops, implements, and monitors well-being programming
3. Facilitates communication, develop marketing, promote, and track participation and success of wellness programing to include specific wellness campaigns in addition to center membership
4. Oversees the safety of staff and patrons as well as safety, maintenance, and purchase and/or replacement of fitness equipment
5. Teaches and/or coordinates group fitness classes on a variety of wellness activities designed to reduce health risk, decrease medical costs, and encourage change towards overall improved well-being

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology, kinesiology, health or related field with strong emphasis in health and fitness

Other Required Qualifications
Current Exercise Physiologist Certification from the American College of Sports Medicine
Current group exercise instructor certification from ACE, AFAA or other nationally accredited specialty class certification required
Adult CPR & AED certification (AHA or Red Cross)

Required Experience
Three (3) years of experience in related fields

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
Previous fitness facility management experience, preferably in a corporate or university setting
Current knowledge and experience in teaching various aerobic/fitness classes is preferred
Previous group exercise instruction experience strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of exercise physiology, kinesiology, appropriate health measures, and preventative wellness practices

  • Able to manage self-directed work but also work collaboratively with others as appropriate

  • Ability to administer emergency protocol

  • Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines

  • Delegation skills and decision making

  • Mentorship skills and the ability to successfully interact with a diverse population and communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders

  • Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills

  • Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)

  • Strong attention to detail and follow up skills

  • Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
