Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Serves as the service technician for on-campus housing. Performs general maintenance work including detection and correction of mechanical failures. Assists with emergency, corrective and/or preventative maintenance.
- Performs various resident maintenance work including, but not limited to plumbing, appliance, HVAC, electrical and carpentry
- Performs basic routine electrical repairs such as wiring, fuses, fixtures, sockets, and repair/install HVAC systems
- Performs routine plumbing repairs such as repair/replacement of water heaters, clearing drain lines, replacing broken piping, washers, gaskets, faucets, toilets
- Assists in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors
- Notifies leadership of any usual occurrences, potential safety hazards and/or damage
High school diploma or equivalent
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia driver's license HVAC/EPA Certification
Five (5) years related work experience
Previous experience operating heavy machinery and electrical equipment, including aerial lifts and ladders
University housing maintenance experience is preferred

Able to operate diagnostic software Ability to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment following technical manuals and diagnostic procedures Able to build upon existing knowledge in technical application of maintenance work Able to work an on-call schedule and serve in on-call rotation Ability to understand and comply with building codes, electrical codes, fire codes, plumbing codes and other technical standards and specifications is required Ability to adapt to changing work environments Ability to work in high places as necessary Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
Knowledge of EPA Refrigeration Certification and all aspects of HVAC Maintenance Knowledge of basic hand tools and power tools Knowledge of appropriate safety standards and precautions
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite) Strong attention to detail and follow up skills Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
