Faculty Position—Physician Assistant Studies
The Department of Physician Assistant (PA) Studies in the School of Medicine & Health Sciences (SMHS) at the George Washington University (GW) invites applications for two full-time (12 month), non-tenure track faculty position. The department is home to one of the premier PA programs in the country and features a strong focus on public health. In addition to the two-year PA program, awarding a Master of Science in Health Sciences (MSHS), the department also offers a combined three-year MSHS/Master of Public Health program in partnership with the GW Milken Institute School of Public Health. Faculty within the department serve in a variety of national leadership roles in the PA profession with a commitment to health equity, community service, and interprofessional collaboration.
Teaching responsibilities will include effort in GW’s nationally ranked PA program. Duties will include teaching within the didactic and clinical phases of the program. Other responsibilities include leading seminars and workshops, facilitating small group activities, assessing student learning outcomes, and serving as an advisor. Engaging in scholarly activities, providing service to the university and community, and advancing interprofessional and collaborative practices are also expectations.
The appointment will be made at a rank (assistant/associate/full professor) and salary commensurate with prior education and experience. GW also provides a generous benefits package. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must hold a graduate degree in a health profession. Current Physician Assistant licensure or eligibility for licensure in the District of Columbia, Virginia, and/or Maryland and previous teaching experience are required.
