Assistant Vice President for Marketing and Communications

The Assistant Vice President will serve as the institution’s Chief Communications and Marketing Officer and will manage all employees in the University’s Marketing and External Affairs Department. This includes oversight of communications with internal and external stakeholders to advance the University’s mission, market position, and brand image by defining and executing annual strategic goals. The Assistant Vice President will coordinate all areas of the University’s marketing and communications efforts, including advertising, the web, social media, videos, visual identity, news, community relations, events, and will support these efforts by developing and maintaining a future-focused, multi-channel external/internal communications plan.

Reporting directly to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing, assisting in the attainment of annual recruitment, retention, and student success goals is an important component of this position. As such, the successful candidate will be interested in assessing the lifecycle of how stakeholders interact with the University and in assessing and improving all aspects of the guest experience.

Candidates with or without higher education experience are encouraged to apply. The position requires a minimum of 5-8 years of executive experience in a leadership role in marketing and communications. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Experience with project management, CMS, CRM and other related technology is a plus.
