Job Description POSITION SUMMARY:

The call center is the first point of contact for all students, employees, faculty and the public for Lone Star College. The call center provides assistance to callers regarding all aspects of the college system. The call center assists callers in researching the Police Department and other departments/divisions within the system.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Manages incoming calls on several lines simultaneously, using a multi-line, computerized Call Manager phone systemProvides professional and prompt service to connect callers with destination phone users, internally and externally, using excellent customer service and phone etiquetteProvides general information regarding campus and programs using printed and electronic reference materialsProvides information regarding deadlines, dates, schedules and eventsProvides information regarding admissions, test scores, transcripts, class availability, and restrictionsAccesses information from various websites and databases in order to respond appropriately to inquiriesEnters call log information into spreadsheets and maintains current directory listingsResponsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipmentInterface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the positionWork is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GEDSalary

Hourly Pay Rate is $11.78.
