Job Details
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Reviews and edits students’ resumes and cover letters
•Provides general career and professional development coaching, including student preparation for legal employment
•Identifies information about employment opportunities in the private and public sectors for students and alumni
•Prepares resource materials
•Participation in job fairs
•Organizes career, professional development, and job-search related programs for students
•Develops and maintains close working relationships with public and private sector employers
•Attends events on Long Island and in New York City.
This is an onsite position; work for this role is performed on campus.
The usual schedule for this position is Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm. This position is currently working 4 days on alternating weeks.
Some evening hours are a part of this position. Events are occasionally scheduled on weekends.
Qualifications:A J.D. degree is required. Excellent organizational, written and oral communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently and as a member of a larger student services team are required. Attention to detail is critical in the review of students’ documents. Presentation skills are necessary and advanced computing skills, including use of social media, strongly preferred.
