Head Strength & Conditioning Coordinator
The Strength and Conditioning Coordinator reports to the Director of Athletics all aspects of the intercollegiate sports strength and conditioning program; including working with the coaches and support staff on the overall direction and coordination of the comprehensive program. The Coordinator is responsible for the design, development and administration of a program for speed, strength, agility and explosion that reflects the athletic department’s goals. This position is responsible for creating an environment that is supportive of individual differences and maximizes the educational and athletic development of the student athletes. The Coordinator designs specific programs for each sport, in consultation with the coaches of that particular sport and is the primary strength and condition coach.
The position may require odd hours including evenings, weekends and holidays. The Coordinator is responsible for establishing a departmental atmosphere open to meeting the reasonable expectations of clients and ensuring high quality services.
The principal responsibilities of the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator are: coordinating the overall direction and operation of a NCAA strength and conditioning program for Division II men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletic teams, providing hands on, one-on-one training with both male and female athletes, providing in-depth nutritional information for all student athletes, and oversees the Risley Hall Weight Room, including the recommendation of equipment ordering, staffing, compliance and weight room maintenance.
- Minimum 1-3 years in successful sport performance/strength training experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science or related field from an accredited institution required.
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification (CSCS) through the NSCA or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) by the CSCCa
- Current CPR/AED certifications
The anticipated starting salary range for this position is $45,000, commensurate with skills and experience.
