This position provides personal Wellness coaching for UTCOMLS students on an individual and
group level. The Wellness counselor will develop wellness and outreach programsfor students to
learn self-care as a current student and future healthcare provider. Programs can address
both personal and social issues by interviewing and assessing student’s needs and develop next
steps, which can include referrals to other service providers at UTMC/outside resources.
Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology, Biology, Biochemistry and related field required.Working Conditions:This job will be performed in a research laboratory environment. Individual must be familiar withchemical hygiene and biosafety procedures, and willing to accept training in such procedures. Workmay involve some exposure to potential biohazards, chemical hazards and radioactive substanceswith appropriate protections. Work will involve laboratory rodent handling.
