The National Center for Professional & Research Ethics within the Coordinated Science Laboratory in The Grainger College of Engineering seeks applicants for a Research Project Coordinator. This position is a core member of the funded project team producing deliverables for funded research and outreach projects. It includes researching and writing reports, participating in instructional design, and developing video and other resources.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Researching and writing reports, communications and proposals for external clients and funders? developing detailed research and literature reviews for locating and demonstrating evidence-base for curricular elements, synthesis of materials from the research literature in an audience-accessible mode, creating lesson plans for lab members and lab leaders, including facilitation guides for train-the-trainers sessions, helping develop narrative storylines embedded in scientific settings to illustrate the pedagogical content of the leadership curriculum
•Participating in instructional design and mounting content in online learning management systems (which may vary by program and content goals)? working with HHMI project leadership for project goal achievement including learning outcomes, pedagogical content, curricular elements, presentations, interview conduct and/or summaries, focus group conduct and results analysis, progress reporting
•Interacting with our subject matter experts in the fields of biomedical research, DEI, and leadership development: evaluating their feedback, prioritizing, and then taking responsibility for implementation of particular content as determined by leadership? researching validity of concerns of experts with evidence base when necessary? working in a context of high level, extremely busy professionals on material covering sensitive topics? Researching, writing, and developing web, text and video elements included in content for a scientific audience on leadership development in a laboratory setting
•Liaison with online program participants: communications, responding to queries, managing online interactions, and associated online materials (websites, forums, etc.)
•Assisting in the selection, organization, tagging, and cataloging of video and written interviews and manuscripts for the online content centers
•Attend weekly team meetings
•Use NCPRE’s task and document management systems
•Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: Bachelor's degree and one year of research administration experience in an academic or scientific environment. Demonstrated research writing and instructional design experience.
Preferred: Familiarity with NCPRE’s procedures, culture, and projects Instructional design Background in science, including familiarity with scientific terminology, research settings, and aspirations. Excellent facility with Keynote, Pages.
SALARY AND APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
This is a full-time Civil Service, Program Coordinator position, appointed on a [12]-month service basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after application deadline. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Research
Students and scholars find the University an ideal place to conduct research. The Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology is a model for interdisciplinary research, where eighteen research groups from sixteen University departments work within and across three broadly defined themes: biological intelligence, human-computer intelligent interaction, and molecular and electronic nanostructures. The University is also home to the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA).
Undergraduate Education
The University has a fundamental commitment to undergraduate education. Nearly 28,000 undergraduate students are enrolled in nine undergraduate divisions, which together offer some 4,000 courses in more than 150 fields of study.
Undergraduate admission is highly selective. In the 2001 freshman class, students in the middle 50% had ACT scores between 25 and 30 and ranked between the 83rd and 96th percentiles of their high school graduating classes.

The Arts
A major center for the arts, the campus attracts dozens of nationally and internationally renowned artists each year to its widely acclaimed Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. The University also supports two major museums: the Krannert Art Museum and Kinkead Pavilion; and the Spurlock Museum, a museum of world history and culture.
Other major facilities include the multipurpose Assembly Hall (16,500 seats); Memorial Stadium (70,000 seats), site of Big Ten Conference football games; and the Intramural-Physical Education Building, one of the largest recreational facilities of its kind on a university campus.
