Position Summary:

The Family and Children’s Resource Program (FCRP), part of UNC Chapel Hill School of Social Work, is currently accepting applications for a Training/Education Specialist.

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position in the Non-Faculty track and is dependent on grant funding. The Training/Education Specialist will report to the Program Coordinator and will be responsible for development, implementation, and delivery of curricula and instructional programs (both in person, classroom, and in an online environment) with a focus on topics relevant to child welfare issues. This educational outreach will be targeted primarily to the unique needs of public and private social services and foster care agencies.

Educational Requirements:

Candidates must possess a master’s degree in social work, or a related field.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience in curriculum development and training, and a minimum of two years’ experience in human services practice preferred. Familiarity with community service, the human services system in North Carolina and child welfare practice especially in the fields of supervision, child protective services assessment and child sexual abuse, will enhance the application. The ability to work under broad direction with considerable latitude is expected. Classroom training events are held statewide and the ability to travel to regional training sites is required. Applicants who can work autonomously from satellite or home-based sites will be considered.
