The Assistant Director of Multicultural Affairs and Student Success in the Office of Scholastic Enrichment and Equity (OSE2) is primarily responsible for the assessment, development, implementation, and coordination of diversity, equity, and inclusion activities for the UNC SOM community, with a primary emphasis on initiatives related to the retention, success and graduation of underrepresented students (i.e., race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, geographic location, disability, religious affiliation, first generation, low income, and veteran status to name a few).
The Office of Scholastic Enrichment and Equity (OSE2) falls under the umbrella of the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion which provides coordination, oversight and leadership of the UNC SOM’s diversity and inclusion programs and leads the school efforts to maintain and continue to build upon a diverse faculty and inclusive environment that values and respects the contributions of all members of the community.Educational Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience in Higher Education, Psychology, Social Work or similar field, as well as two years of work in the field of equity, diversity, and inclusion.Qualifications and Experience:
Masters and experience in Higher Education, Psychology, Social Work in the field of equity, diversity, and inclusion preferred.
Preferred but not required: Bilingual (fluent or conversational Spanish)
