The Transportation Clerk works under general supervision of the Transportation Manager and performs clerical and administrative support functions within the transportation department.Scope of Responsibilities:
The incumbent is responsible for checking the registrations of drivers, reporting their absence or other irregularities to the Transportation Manager in order to initiate further actions. The Transportation Clerk makes reservation of transport, delivery and collection of payments, or any other duties that may be prescribed by the Transportation Manager. The clerk is also responsible for the administrative duties of the office.Essential Job Functions :
•Plans, organizes, and controls activities related to transportation.
•Manages the fleet and allocated budget.
•Maintains relationship with the insurance company and follow claims.
•Accepts group booking and ensures that transportation charges are calculated correctly.
•Obtains licenses for transport and execution of motor vehicle.
•Follows due dates for renewal of licenses, permits, etc. and reports to supervisors/managers to initiate appropriate action.
•Answers requests for proposals and orders from customers.
•Receives and confirms orders for transportation.
•Makes progress reports and expenditure forecasting.
•Transportation Clerk must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
•Must possess at least one year of specialized experience involving the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of this position.
•Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
