OPEN TO CURRENT SDSU EMPLOYEES ONLYPosition SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Director of Athletic Equipment Services, the Athletic Equipment Attendant II has the primary responsibility for day-to-day coordination of all logistical activities related to all assigned sports teams. Duties include, but are not limited to, cleaning, maintaining, and distributing laundry for all Olympic sports, Athletic Equipment Services (AES) shipping and receiving, and delivering mail and packages throughout the athletic department. This position is responsible for assisting in the enforcement of NCAA, university, conference, and State policies and procedures as they relate to the athletic equipment facility. This position must work closely with staff to resolve problems and/or issues arising in the day-to-day operations of the department.For more information regarding SDSU Athletics, click here.This is a full-time (1.0 time-base) benefits-eligible, temporary position with an expected end date of December 31, 2021 with the possibility of reappointment. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.Education and ExperienceHigh school diplomaOne year of experience which would provide adequate training for supervising the equipment and supply services in a college athletic programPreferred QualificationsBachelor' s degree and one or more years of experience at an NCAA school or professional sports organization performing duties as an athletics equipment room attendantKnowledge of and/or experience with inventory tracking software such as Front Rush (or similar)Must have initiative, good judgment, and the ability to efficiently perform duties and responsibilities with a minimum level of supervisionThe Athletic Equipment Attendant is expected to exercise professional, courteous behavior, good judgment, and good customer service when interacting with student-athletes, staff, coaches, visitors, and coworkersSpecialized SkillsThe incumbent is required to have the physical ability to lift materials and supplies weighing up to 70 pounds per package (boxes, bags, etc.).Experience with Microsoft Office, emphasis in Excel. Licenses and/or Certifications RequiredCalifornia Driver’s License, or ability to obtain within 10 days of hireAEMA certified or certifiable within eleven months of hirePossession of or ability to obtain an American Red Cross First Aid CertificateCompensation and BenefitsStarting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $3,167 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $2,912 - $4,840 per month.
