The Markey Cancer Center is recruiting a Community Health Worker which will be part of the Community Impact Office. This person will establish and maintain relationships and partnerships with community organizations to promote health equity. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the African American population of the greater Lexington area. This candidate will form collaborations with African American community leaders and other stakeholders to identify community needs and priorities related to cancer and health equity. This person will conduct outreach and engagement activities to promote cancer prevention, screening to help improve health outcomes among African Americans and undeserved communities. S/he will advocate and link/refer people to needed services, including screenings, clinical trials, patient education, and survivorship.
