Director of Athletic Training Services Director of Athletic Training Services Director of Athletic Training Services Director of Athletic Training Services Coe College seeks qualified candidates for the position of Director of Athletic Training Services. This position will conduct and manage all healthcare responsibilities of Athletic Training Services, including prevention, examination, and rehabilitation of athletic-related injuries to Coe College student-athletes within the spirit, policies, and rules of Coe College, the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C), and the NCAA Division III that will further the fitness, wellness, personal, social, and academic development of Coe students.   • Direct the medical care for the members of Coe’s 26 Varsity Athletic Teams using best practices driven by current research/evidence and in the best interests of the student-athletes’ health and safety.
  • Serve as the NCAA Healthcare Administrator Designee and all assignments and reporting required for the athletic department.
  • Oversee and collaborate with the Athletic Training Staff (ATS) to provide medical coverage to members of assigned NCAA Division III Intercollegiate and Non-NCAA Varsity Athletic Teams.
  • Collaborate with Director of Medical Services/Team Physicians and other affiliated healthcare professionals in providing and directing medical care for members of Coe’s Varsity Athletic Teams.
  • Provide on-site practice and home event coverage for assigned intercollegiate athletic teams, both in-season and non-traditional season.
  • Travel to away contests with assigned intercollegiate athletic teams as contests schedules allow.
  • Manage the daily operation of the athletic training facilities including cleaning/disease prevention, organizing equipment, assessing inventory, and ensuring safety of medical equipment.
  • Manage the assigned athletic training operating budget including ordering supplies, facility updates, staff uniforms, and office supplies
  • Maintain and collect medical documentation of injuries/illness, pre-season medical forms, and develop end of the season injury/treatment reports
  • Review and update policies and procedures of Athletic Training Services in order to follow medical bylaws, standards, and guidelines of NCAA.
  • Coordinate baseline and post-injury ImPACT concussion testing for assigned intercollegiate teams.
  • Communicate with the strength and conditioning staff and team coaches the student athletes’ injury details and participation status.
  • Supervise work-study students assigned to the Athletic Training Facility to assist with daily operation of the facility. In addition, supervise potential Pre-PT/Pre-AT students assigned to the work in the Athletic Training Facility.
  • Coordinate the collection and review of all student-athletes’ pre-participation examination (PPE), medical history, proof of health insurance, and annual medical forms/policies related to medical clearance for participation in intercollegiate athletics.
  • Adhere to the NCAA Div. III rules related to athletics participation as well as utilize guidance of the NCAA Sports Medicine Handbook recommendations for setting forth institutional medical policies/procedures.
  • Attend A-R-C Athletic Trainer meetings representing Coe College.

  • Qualifications: Qualifications:
    • Master’s degree required.
    • Previous experience in Athletic Training management.
    • National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) certification.
    • Obtain State of Iowa Licensure through Department of Public Health.
    • Successful completion of background and driver check in accordance with Coe College policy.
