Minimum Qualifications:

Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field and at least 3-years’ experience supporting enterprise systems
•Experience working with analytic tools, such as Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI
•Experience with working relational databases and fluent in SQL
•Experience working with higher education, constituent relationship management and/or a fundraising system experience

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement Services, the Business Systems Analyst works directly with management, stakeholders, and team leads to recommend, help prioritize, document, and implement technical solutions, quality control projects, and business process improvements that support the Division of Development and Alumni Relations. This position will directly implement solutions that can be delivered though “click to configure” processes, analytic and visualization tools, as well as assist on a variety of data enhancement, clean-up, and import processes.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

•Understanding of business analysis principles, processes, and techniques.
•Ability to develop and prepare use cases, functional specifications, and technical requirements.
•Ability to understand and represent the needs of the end user in a software development environment.
•Ability to analyze datasets in order to identify anomalies, patterns, errors, and potential areas for improvement
•Ability to analyze, identify critical elements and alternatives, and organize existing resources and new information to implement the most appropriate solutions
•Ability to translate business objectives into IT/business systems solutions
•Ability to interact effectively verbally and in writing with both technical and non-technical audiences

Duties/Responsibilities:

Work directly with management, stakeholders, and team leads to recommend, help prioritize, document, implement, and test technical solutions, quality control projects, and business process improvements that support the Division of Development and Alumni Relations.
•Gathers and documents clear, detailed and concise requirements and communicates with stakeholders to review and explain them
•Creates functional specification documents, to ensure understanding and team buy-in with clients, project team, technical staff, and other affected parties
•Investigates and develops recommended solutions, including detailed business user requirements, detailed prototypes, workflow procedures, and business rules
•Participates and leads design specification reviews with development team members to identify design issues early and assist with test plan creation
•Learns the complexities of supported software systems to aide in analysis of potential problem areas
•Assists others in order to meet aggressive deadlines
•Collaborates across teams to evaluate and suggest improvements to internal processes
