Position Summary:

The Department of English at the University of North Texas, a Minority and Hispanic Serving Institution, invites applications for a one-year lecturer position. This position is full-time, comes with a competitive salary, and includes benefits. Responsibilities for the position include teaching four courses each semester, in first-year writing and literature, to a diverse student population. Successful candidates will join a diverse, collaborative, internationally recognized group of colleagues in the Department of English.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will have a PhD in English (literary studies, creative writing, or rhetoric) and demonstrated excellence in first-year writing instruction.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants who possess expertise in one (or more) of the following: early British literature, especially Shakespeare; Latinx, Black, Indigenous, Asian American or other ethnic literatures; or instruction and assessment in English Language Arts (with 7-12 educator certification in Texas or other state). We also value experience in critical pedagogy and information literacy, teaching diverse student populations, and online instruction.
