Job Description:

Gift Processing

  • Process gift and non-gift batches that are created by the Deposit Specialist.
  • Assist in the processing of reversals/corrections, Gator Booster gifts, Division Sponsored Research gifts, pledges and pledge problems and reconciliation and batching of on-line credit entries.
  • Biographical Data Entry and Quality Assurance

  • Verify and update biographical/entity information in Advance per gift batches, alumni memberships, Annual Giving, emails, unit requests, Phonathon reports, obituary registries, data services and special projects.
  • Create new entities, both individual and corporate, within the Advance Database.
  • Gift Analysis

  • Decide appropriate transaction, purpose and receipting codes for gifts while maintaining all monthly, annual and project deadlines.
  • Large gifts $10,000 and above to be processed within two business days.
  • Small gifts less than $10,000 to be processed within five business days.
  • Non-gifts within eight business days.
  • Review and communicate with college/unit transactions that have been red-flagged with processing questions.
  • Research money received without proper documentation to ensure correct handling by communicating with development officers, administrative support, or when necessary, banks, investment firms, and other third parties.
  • Expected Salary:

    Salary commensurate with education and experience.

    Minimum Requirements:

    A high school diploma or equivalent and six months of clerical or customer-service experience. The ability to keyboard or type 45 accurate words per minute.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience in a professional, customer service, team oriented environment.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and exercise strict confidentiality and discretion in all matters.
  • Data Entry, proofreading, grammar, and spelling skills.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must be an outstanding communicator and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal skills; and the ability to work collegially and interact effectively with a diverse constituency.
  • An appreciation for and support of diversity in the workplace in all its forms; proven success working with stakeholders; project management skills; experience in a data-driven environment; organizational skills; and the ability to lead, influence and motivate others are required.
  • The ability to work accurately and efficiently with minimum supervision.
  • A willingness to work overtime is required including Saturdays and holidays.
  • Ability to do in-depth research and follow-up.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge in these areas: Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, WWW browsers, preferably Internet Explorer, E-mail. Working knowledge of a donor database, contact management and tracking system.
