Apr 20, 2021

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pediatric Cardiology, at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, in partnership with the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans (CHNOLA), is seeking to add an additional full-time academic Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to our faculty group. This candidate would function as the Medical Director of ECMO for the Hospital. The Department of Pediatrics at Tulane is committed to providing excellence in education, clinical care, and research. The selected candidate will become actively involved in all aspects of teaching including training medical students and residents.  CHNOLA is a 224-bed, not-for-profit regional medical center offering the most advanced pediatric care to children from birth to 21 years. With more than 400 physicians trained in more than 40 subspecialties, it is the only full-service hospital exclusively for children in Louisiana and the Gulf South. The Heart Center at CHNOLA performs approximately 200 cardiac surgeries annually and 200 heart catheterizations (75% interventional). CHNOLA recently opened a state of the art 28-bed CICU/Cardiac Care Unit.

As a University employed faculty member, you will receive a negotiable salary commensurate with experience, and a fully comprehensive benefits package, and relocation allowance.

Qualified applicants must be board certified/eligible in Pediatrics Cardiology and/or Pediatric Critical Care with an extra year of advanced fellowship training in pediatric cardiac intensive care and be licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana by start date. It is preferred that the candidate have a minimum of 5 years CICU experience. He or she must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Fluent and conversational skills in Spanish is desirable.
