The Assistant Project & Planning Manager will be a member of the Klein College leadership team in developing the new building design with the Architect. The APM will manage the college building committees and is responsible for organizing information from the College building committees and working directly with the Architect to ensure committee recommendations are evaluated and considered in the building design. 

The Assistant Project & Planning Manager will be a member of the Klein Leadership developing and approving design plans with building architect, Temple Planning and Design, and the Center for Cinematic and Performing Arts (CPCA) to ensure Klein building needs are communicated, evaluated, and addressed.  

The Assistant Project & Planning Manager will prepare and maintain a detailed project management schedule using recognized project management software of the schedule of building program targets and milestones which will be communicated to the Klein community in concert with the Klein Communication team. Responsibilities also include monitoring, evaluation and reporting on committee Teams sites. 

When the building development plans move from design to construction similar functions will be performed during construction adding work with the construction management.
Additionally, the Assistant Project & Planning Manager will manage, coordinate, and oversee on behalf of Klein College the planning, design, and construction administration of a wide range of different scale and complex facilities projects, from small renovations to new construction Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as architecture, management, or engineering and five years related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:
*Excellent project management, verbal and written communication skills.
*Ability to understand and review design and construction drawings.
*Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
*Superb time management and prioritization skills.
*Ability to evaluate equipment and furniture and make recommendations on keeping or discarding with relocation.

*Basic knowledge of building MEP systems.
*Facilities, architecture/interior design, planning, or construction background with experience in executing projects from programming/design through construction. 
*Experience with basic finishes and furniture selections and procurement.
