Advertised Job Summary:

Under the limited supervision of the Supervisor of Faculty Support, the Administrative Coordinator will provide specialized administrative support to the faculty with a focus on grant writing, research, faculty scholarship, and general support to the NMRS Center on Professionalism. The successful candidate must have initiative, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and will be self-motivated and proactive, well-organized, reliable, proficient in the use of the MS Office Suite, and have previous experience in, or demonstrate the potential to quickly learn, proofreading, editing, and legal citations. Additionally, the successful candidate must possess the demonstrable ability to work independently, problem-solve, and have excellent research and analytical skills. This position will heavily involve grant research and writing to include general responsibility for researching grant opportunities to determine eligibility criteria and assisting faculty in identifying grant opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

Bachelor’s degree, or high school diploma and 4 years work experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or equivalency.

Preferred Qualifications:

1-2 years of entry-level experience in grant writing.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to learn new office management software. Ability to work independently and problem-solve. Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources. Ability to handle confidential matters with the utmost integrity. Ability to understand the programs and funding requirements of the organization. Ability to proofread materials for spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, usage, and consistency. Ability to work in a professional manner with a diverse constituency of faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. Type a minimum of 45 wpm (with 5 or fewer errors).
