Advertised Job Summary:

The position performs a variety of diagnostic, therapeutic, and other complex experimental and research procedures in the Animal Resources Facilities, USC School of Medicine. Monitors and treats animal health and welfare in addition to supporting investigators in their research efforts. Completes QA/QC audits as needed to ensure compliance with Standard Operating procedures, IACUC policies, Federal Regulation, etc.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

Degree in animal science or veterinary technology and 1 year related research experience, or Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) certification through the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS), high school diploma and 5 years related research experience. Must be a Veterinary Technician or certified Laboratory Animal Technologist. Experience in the areas of general care, diagnostics, and surgery/anesthesia relating to common laboratory animals essential.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must be able to work independently and have good communication skills. Ability to prepare and maintain laboratory records and reports. Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
