Advertised Job Summary:

Oversight for recruitment, training and supervision of research staff (including graduate assistants and student volunteers). Supervises daily operations; prioritizes, develops, implements, and monitors effective processes to ensure efficient work flow. Maintains a strong working relationship with research staff and the College of Nursing Business Director, Human Resources, Post Award Coordinator and university offices/personnel to ensure grant compliance. Organizes project meetings, coordinates with Co-Is.

Serves as liaison with InquistHealth and other research partners and is primarily responsible for coordinating coach (Phase 1 and 2) and participant recruitment (Phase 2 only) with the collaborating organizations. Assist Dr. Pinto with training of coaches for Phase 2. Supervises coaches in adapting the web platform (Phase 1) and supervise coaches in intervention delivery in Phase 2. Review audio-recorded intervention calls for safety and supervision.

Assist PI in maintaining the overall scientific integrity of the proposed study. Works closely with the PI to ensure that protocols are followed during coach and participant recruitment and data collection.

Supervises data collection; reviews data for inconsistencies and missing information (quality control),and assists in the production of project updates and reports on the study.

Develops, directs, supervises, and coordinates the preparation, maintenance and management of the grants fiscal records and operations, which includes primary responsibility for budget preparation and oversight. Responsible for auditing and monitoring monthly ongoing Time & Effort reports, Bi-Annual Time & Effort reports Monitors and maintains adherence to federal budget guidelines. Evaluates financial activities to ensure compliance with University, State and Federal fiscal policies.

Develops, compiles, prepares and maintains specialized grant records and materials using an electronic filing system, manuals and reports to include administrative processes related to IRB approval and communications; study records; documents, and data bases on the secure research server; data collection and management for the Principal Investigator. Responsible for submission of various reports as delegated by the PI.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

Master’s degree in related field and 2 years related experience, or bachelor’s degree in related field and 4 years related experience. This position requires traveling to off site locations for recruitment and training. Flexibility in work schedule to include evening hours. Experience coordinating research studies and supervising research staff is critical. Research and clinical experience working with cancer patients desirable. Experience delivering lifestyle interventions especially those focused on physical activity and experience working with community organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree preferred in psychology, exercise science, counseling, social work, or nursing.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Familiarity with academic/university systems and processes. Ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing, with all constituents of the College of Nursing. Strong interpersonal skills sufficient to inspire, lead, and work effectively with diverse groups. Ability to effectively direct, manage, and lead professional and support staff. Excellent problem solving skills with proven ability to strategize, prioritize, and multi-task to meet goals and deadlines. Understanding and support of the research mission of the College of Nursing. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Ability to interpret and apply rules and regulations. Ability to manage work and provide guidance to employees. Ability to make presentations and prepare reports.
