Recruitment Assistant

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UTK) Human Resources office is seeking a Recruitment Assistant. The UTK Human Resources Office provides services to more than 5,000 regular faculty and staff, as well as temporary and student employees.  Our office values excellence and inclusion by building relationships with respect, integrity, accountability and care.  The HR office seeks to add collaborative team members with sincerity for working alongside our compensation team members while adding value to our campus constituents’ missions. Accountabilities 

Administrative Support
•    Receives and directs calls for the human resources offices
•    Monitors and responds to departmental email
•    Ensures supply levels are adequate
•    Provides basic information regarding job application status and troubleshooting assistance with the job application including assistance resetting passwords and unlocking accounts
•    Assists visitors with applying for jobs
•    Collects and assists with new hire paperwork for employees
•    Monitors I-9 appointment scheduling and calendar
•    Provides support for New Employee Welcome
•    Process and log background checks
•    Enters data into background check database

Temporary Help Pool Support
•    Enter time for employees into HRIS system, and follows up with departments where timesheets are outstanding
•    Enter billing information into electronic systems once payroll has been processed
•    Compiles data into spreadsheets 
 



Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:

Required Qualifications 
•    High school diploma or GED
•    1 year of office/clerical experience

Preferred Qualifications 
•    Experience in a human resources setting

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 
•    Knowledge of MS Office and web-based applications
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills
•    Organizational skills
•    Excellent customer service skills 
•    Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data 
•    Ability to utilize a multi-line phone, multi-task and coordinate meetings
•    Ability to analyze reports 
•    Ability to be flexible/objective in a high-pressure environment
