General Summary

The Director plans, directs, and coordinates the operations, personnel, assessment, budget, and programming for CAST Connections, which is the college-level student success center that serves undergraduate students in our 7 academic units. The Director develops, implements, and evaluates support services, develops training and programs, and oversees community outreach opportunities for students in CAST Connections. The Director regularly interacts with the academic advisement team in CAST to monitor courses with high DFW rates to customize support programming for students in those courses. The Director also serves as a member of the leadership team for CAST and works with campus and community constituencies.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor's or equivalent degree.

2. Three (3) years’ experience in a student affairs or academic support role that includes responsibilities for tracking student progress toward college degree completion, oversight of student tutoring, or development of programming related to student support initiatives.

3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

4. Ability to produce quality work under deadlines.

5. Excellent organizational skills.

6. Experience working with diverse student populations.

7. Must be able to work independently, but also effectively contribute to a leadership team with a learner-centered and service-oriented philosophy.

Desired Qualifications

1. Master's degree in higher education or student affairs related area.

2. Program assessment experience, including data collection and analysis.

Work Hours

Core work hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:30

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without reasonable accommodation:

2. Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$55,000 - $65,000/year

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score.
