Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

The Regional Manager is responsible for oversight of the Harvest of Hope (HOH) GEAR UP programs at our partner school districts in the Moses Lake region, including Soap Lake, Moses Lake, Warden, and Othello School Districts. Responsibilities include supervision of GEAR UP site managers; fiscal and budgetary oversight and guidance; development and implementation of regional program services and events; hire, train and supervise GEAR UP personnel; approve leave requests, conduct performance evaluations, make recommendations in hiring and performance issues; program guidance and interpretation of policy communicating University and program policy and regulations; and representing the University and GEAR UP program to internal and external constituents.

Under the oversight of the HOH Program Director, the Regional Manager is responsible for providing oversight of GEAR UP program operations and resources; establishes and implements short-and long-range regional goals and objectives. The incumbent acts as administrative contact, often on complex and confidential issues, for internal and external constituencies, such as with other units of WSU and with other local, state, and federal offices and involved parties. The position requires a high degree of professionalism, and exercises independent judgement in interpreting and applying WSU and Department of Education policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements:

Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in K-12 programs related to the functional managerial area which has included at least four (4) years of supervisory experience;

Demonstrated computer software skills, including the ability to use the Google applications and Microsoft Office programs including Gmail, Outlook, Google Docs, Word, Google Workbooks, Excel, and Access.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a relevant field;

Previous experience in higher education.
