  • Position Description:

    The employee will be hired on an “intermittent call-in” (i.e., part-time) position.  The employee will be 100% funded by a grant (USDA grant to Heckathorn, UT index = 206721, duration 8/1/19-7/31/2022), and will conduct research related to this grant under the supervision of Dr. Scott Heckathorn.  The employee will investigate aspects of the molecular biology and molecular genetics of plant-fungal relationships, as they relate to the overall project goals (climate change effects on plant carbon relations).  The employee will independently conduct experiments and collect and analyze data.



      Ph.D. in Biology or related field.Experience with experimental biology research (at least two years).Knowledge of molecular biology and molecular genetics.Experience with molecular cloning and microbial culturing.
    Communication and other skills:

      Knowledge of basic graphing skills and basic statistical analyses.
