Job Summary:

The Culinary Arts and Hospitality Instructor/Program Coordinator reports directly to the Chair of Business and Industrial Technology. The program coordinator will provide administrative oversight of the culinary arts and hospitality programs in addition to teaching culinary arts and hospitality courses during the fall, spring, and summer semesters as required by the department. Duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following: coordinating activities and directing training of students; preparing unit plans and curriculum documents; instructing students in preparing and cooking foods in a commercial kitchen; and supporting the mission of LSCPA. Performs other related work as assigned. Teaching assignment may include day and evening classes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate of Applied Science degree in Culinary Arts or closely related field.
Three years culinary experience.
At least one year of leadership/supervisory experience.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and see. The employee is occasionally required to sit, lift, push, pull and carry objects up to 25 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts or closely related field.
Five years culinary experience.
Two years of leadership/supervisory experience.
Knowledge of purchasing, ordering, receiving, and inventory procedures.
