OPS Dental Assistant
Job Description:The College of Dentistry is seeking candidates for an OPS Dental Assistant. This position plays a critical role in the examination and treatment of patients, assisting dentists and supporting the faculty practice clinic.
In addition to performing basic supportive functions in accordance with Florida’s Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties under the supervision of a licensed dentist, the duties and responsibilities of this position include:
$17 - $20 per hour

Minimum Requirements:High school diploma and one year of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- One of the following:
- Graduate of a dental assisting course from a CODA-accredited program,
- Pass the national DANB Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) exam, OR
- Pass a radiology course and exam approved by the Florida Dentist and Dental Hygienist Licensing Board that meet the criteria established by rule of the Board.
- Three (3) or more years of practical experience (preferred).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the desire for professional growth.
- Very professional appearance.
- Be organized and possess a superior knowledge of dentistry.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
