The faculty member supports the department in ensuring that both didactic instruction and supervised clinical practice experiences meet all Nurse Anesthesia Program accreditation standards and programmatic outcomes. This includes but is not limited to evaluating student performance: designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating curriculum and student outcomes. Faculty are also responsible for student advising, participation in scholarly and professional activities, and service to the program, University, community, and the profession. Opportunities exist to participate in clinical practice in the community and to teach interprofessional education courses.

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Teach/Course coordination: develops, organizes, delivers, and assesses didactic courses assigned. This includes (but not limited to) managing course descriptions, syllabi, schedules, course and individual lecture objectives, presentation, and assessment tools. Maintains current expert knowledge in subject matter and student/course assessment. 2. Coordination of course and material: works with other participating faculty to ensure programmatic outcomes are met. 3. Maintain records: includes course and student records for assessment and submits records to the University by all deadlines. 4. Advising: mentors professional phase students throughout their course of study. This includes academic professional and other non-academic counseling as needed. Maintains appropriate records of all advising activities. 5. Provides service for the program: includes meeting with prospective students, families, recruitment events, and represents the program to the University and community as required. 6. Committee work: actively participates in all programmatic required committees, as well as any assigned College or University Committees. 7. Scholarly and professional activities: all faculty members are expected to engage in scholarly and professional activities which may include attendance at professional meetings or conferences, engagement in research, or consulting services. Special Qualifications:

Current certification or current recertification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) is required. A current unencumbered license or privilege to practice as a registered professional nurse (RN) and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Indiana is required or must be obtained by the date of employment. 3 years of clinical experience required, and teaching experience preferred.

Academic Preparation:

DNP, Ph.D., or Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) Required
