Job Summary:

The 3-D Technician will assist the Art Faculty to make sure the Sculpture studios including the wood shop, metal shop, foundry, and forges are run in a safe and healthy manner.

Reports To:

Rod Dugal, Fine Arts Area Coordinator

Education/Qualifications:

•Good Conduct and Academic Standing with the college
•Sheridan College Student currently enrolled
•Cumulative GPA is 2.0 or greater

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

General knowledge of the sculptural process, wood shop safety, and metal shop equipment a plus. Ability to safely handle tools and materials in a responsible manner a must.
Preferably an Art major with an interest in sculpture, wood or metal, but student can be trained.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

•Comfortable working with a variety of art materials and different situations in a safe and healthy manner.
•Dirty, dusty, loud working environments.
•Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibility/Duty:

•Under the supervision of the Sculpture Instructor, the student will;
•Assist in maintaining the Wood and Metals studios
•Monitor the safety in the Wood and Metals studios
•Help with general upkeep within these areas
