Job Summary The Department of Social Sciences at Clayton State University is seeking applicants for a part-time instructor to teach one or more undergraduate courses in Sociology and/or Social Work for the Sociology program starting in August 2021. Successful candidates may be required to teach classes that meet during non-standard (early morning, evening) work hours and/or at the Henry County or Fayette/Peachtree City instructional sites. Applicants must have a Master’s of Social Work, Ph.D. or Master’s degree from an accredited institution with at least 18 graduate hours or equivalent experience in sociology.

Each position is a semester-long appointment with the possibility of being offered an appointment in future semesters. Compensation for each course is $2,750 for applicants with an earned J.D. or doctorate, or $2,350 with a Master’s degree. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities Teaching SOCI course(s) as described above.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree with 18 graduate hours of equivalent experience in sociology.

Preferred Qualifications
    Ph.D. or Master’s degree from an accredited institution with experience working within the field being taughtTechnological literacy and a commitment to integrate technology in teachingExcellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
