GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Kirkwood Community College seeks a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Adjunct Instructor. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge base in their discipline and teaching experience at the college level is desirable. Primary duties will include instructing students in courses and communicating with department staff, students, and other faculty. Under minimal supervision, the instructor is responsible for fostering student learning in the areas of medical assisting and general health courses for the Allied Health Department. Must implement and evaluate instruction and report student achievement in assigned courses in accordance with department, division and college policies and procedures. Teaching responsibilities include lecture, laboratory and clinical settings. Must be responsible for meeting the goals and objectives of an individual Professional Preparation Plan as outlined in the College’s Quality Faculty Plan and current licensure in a health field. Constant (67-100%) reaching, standing, walking, lifting, dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and viewing various types of close visual work. Frequent (34-66%) stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying, and perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly the fingertips. Exerting up to 50-100 pounds occasionally (10-33%). Will travel to other on-campus facilities, off-campus facilities and agencies to teach, attend meetings, etc. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
