This position will participate in blood-brain barrier disruption experiments using focused ultrasound and microbubbles, including in vitro and in vivo experiments. The Research Assistant will also attend weekly meetings with Prof. Borden and other lab personnel.

- Operate the focused ultrasound (FUS) device.
- Synthesize and characterize size-isolated microbubbles (SIMBs).
- Handle rodent models and perform FUS procedures on them.
- Coordinate studies with CU Anschutz for assessing treatment of diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) tumors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Knowledge, skills and abilities to operate the focused ultrasound device, synthesize microbubbles, run preclinical animal studies, and coordinate studies with medical collaborators.
- Basic understand of human physiology, focused ultrasound, microbubbles, blood-brain barrier disruption and cancer biology.
- Prior experience in Biomedical Engineering with interest in blood-brain barrier disruption.
