The essential job functions of this position require you to: communicate and build working relationships with staff, faculty and candidates from diverse backgrounds; abide by University guidelines; maintain confidentiality; prioritize and manage work effectively; provide exceptional customer service and positively represent the university; ensure work is detailed, accurate and completed in a timely manner; perform work in a sedentary position; interact with individuals from various levels throughout the university and work successfully in a team as well as independently.

Shift:

Typically Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; additional hours may be required based on departmental needs.

Job Summary:

The Employment Consultant Senior will serve as the lead consultant for all faculty searches and staff hiring. This position and will collaborate with appropriate employment team members and departments/colleges to ensure all posting and selection requirements are adhered to as outlined by University policies and procedures. This position will proactively build and maintain strong working relationships with College Deans, Department Chairs, and hiring department contacts to assist their areas with the resources and tools to support faculty recruitment and selection. This can include coaching and training as well as developing search specific resources, etc. This position will review department/college’s faculty hiring process and provide recommendations for improvements and share best practices. Will partner with Search Committee Chairs to develop strategic recruitment and hiring plans to assist in meeting the University’s strategic plan and diversity goals. Will develop and monitor measures of success for recruiting efforts, turnaround time, and overall candidate experience.

This role will be responsible for: facilitating the posting and hiring process for all faculty requisitions; creating and documenting standard operating procedures; identifying and implementing technology solutions to support faculty searches; overseeing, developing, and promoting UK’s Faculty Hiring Guidelines and Toolkit; serving as the primary presenter for Search Committee trainings; and developing and promoting the established services and resources created under the Hiring Enhancement Program as well as identifying needed resources and leading work-groups through the development process.

In addition, this position will provide executive search recruitment assistance which includes: creating search timelines/deliverables; conducting research to identify best possible sources for applicants prior to searches and throughout the search process; assisting in direct outreach to potential applicants (e.g. emails, calls, etc.); building successful candidate profiles; coordinating logistical needs for search including candidate arrangements (e.g. travel, hotel accommodations, etc.) and interviewing logistical needs (e.g. video conference, room reservations, open forums, lunches), etc.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

The ideal candidate must have the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, effectively influence, coach and train hiring departments and provide leadership and problem solving. This individual must possess professional knowledge of hiring and selection techniques and quickly be able to gain an understanding of the business operations of distinct units of the University. The successful individual will deliver superior customer service focus, have excellent communication skills (written and verbal), attention to detail, planning and organization, information monitoring and analysis and presentation skills. We are seeking a collaborative, innovate individual with a strong respect for diversity and high emotional intelligence which are all keys to success in this position.

Preferred Education/Experience:

Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field. Prefer several years of experience and a proven track record in hiring and selection coaching and/or consultation. Experience with Targeted Selection is a plus.
