Musculoskeletal Imaging

Position: Associate/Full Professor of Clinical (X) Radiological Sciences
Job Location: Orange, CA

Due to sectional growth and programmatic expansion, the Department of Radiological Sciences, University of California Irvine, is seeking an exceptionally qualified candidate for a faculty position at the level of Associate or full Professor of Clinical (X), Radiological Sciences, in the subspecialty of Musculoskeletal Imaging. The University of California Clinical (X) alignment (Clinician Researcher) is in the academic senate series, with expectations of teaching, research, service and clinical work.

The successful applicant must have an MD degree or equivalent, be board-certified by the American Board of Radiology, be fellowship trained in musculoskeletal radiology, and have a valid California Medical License (or be eligible for unrestricted licensure in the State of California). The applicant should have a strong interest in working collaboratively in a diverse environment. In consideration of this appointment, strong interests in mentorship, research, and teaching, as well as demonstrated experience in clinical operations are prerequisite. The successful candidate will have a reputation of academic and clinical excellence.

Requirements - The applicant must be fellowship trained in Musculoskeletal Imaging, and have a definite documented research and teaching interest in musculoskeletal imaging. Command of all aspects of musculoskeletal radiology is imperative, including MR, CT, and radiographic imaging, and image-guided procedures. Interest in ultrasound-guided procedures is a plus.

The University of California, Irvine Medical Center is a 411-bed tertiary and quaternary care hospital with all residencies. UCIMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center in urban Orange County. An outpatient imaging center with the latest MRI (3T and 1.5T), dual energy CT and PET/CT technology will open in Orange this fall. A new hospital and outpatient tower with the latest imaging is planned to open in Irvine/Newport in 2025. Research equipment include 3T MRI, 320-slice CT and PET/CT. There are collegial relationships with all services. UCI offers excellent salary and benefits with an incentive plan. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
