Department Summary:

The Department of Accounting offers a well-knit package of courses leading to a BBA in accounting or to an integrated BS/MS in accounting or taxation. These programs are student-focused and prepare our students to pass the CPA, CMA, CIA, or CISA exam and to become professionals in the accounting field. We also offer a rigorous 4-year program leading to a Ph.D. in Business with a concentration in accounting.
Our undergraduate accounting program is ranked among the top-25 in the nation for its faculty size. We have a thriving internship program (for example, 94% of our spring 2017 interns were offered permanent positions), and our successful graduates are highly sought after by employers in public accounting, corporate accounting, government agencies, and not-for-profit organizations. Our accounting program is separately accredited by AACSB International, the premier benchmark for business education quality. Moreover, we have earned separate endorsements from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), making us the only accounting program in the DFW area to achieve dual IIA/IMA endorsements.

Position Summary:

The Department of Accounting seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor Pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for Fall 2021, Spring 2022, and Summer 2022 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses to develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs.

The anticipated need Acct 2010 Accounting Principles I; Acct 2020 Accounting Principles II; Acct 3405 Professional Development; Acct 5370 Family Tax Planning; Acct 5380 Tax Practice and Procedures; other courses not listed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours directly related to the assigned course(s).

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Accounting/Taxation from an AACSB accredited institution. Industry experience and certifications relevant to the teaching area. Teaching experience at the college level.
