Honors Coordinator

The Honors Coordinator is responsible for supporting the goals of the University Honors Program by engaging in outreach with the community and campus partners to enhance retention and recruitment for the University Honors Program. The Honors Coordinator will independently liaison with partners on campus and in the community and coordinate events and activities for the University Honors Program. This position is expected to develop new programs and events in response to the interests of the Director of the University Honors Program.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus one year of related experience required. Professional experience with developing and maintaining partnerships between educational units and community organizations necessary. Must have professional experience with managing or contributing to student retention initiatives. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage data essential. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills required. Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse range of individuals necessary. Must have demonstrated ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team. Demonstrated ability to develop, organize and implement events required.

Preferred qualifications: Professional experience with college recruitment preferred. Experience working with recruitment and/or retention of underrepresented student populations helpful. Prefer experience with Honors education and/or students with distinction, as a student or professional. Knowledge of UNL information and communication systems, such as MyRed, MyPlan, and Blackboard desirable.
