The University of Maine School of Computing and Information Science (SCIS) seeks applicants for a one-year, fixed-length Computer Science teaching faculty position at the rank of lecturer, with an anticipated start date of August 30, 2021.

Essential duties and responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to be an effective and engaging teacher, to show a strong commitment to the development of computer science curricula, to advise and mentor undergraduates in pursuit of their academic and research goals, and to collaborate with colleagues to increase student success. The typical teaching assignment is three courses per semester at the undergraduate level.

Required Qualifications: Documented successful college-level teaching is required. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach a wide range of computer science courses from the introductory to advanced undergraduate levels. Preference will be given to those applicants with documented participation in activities promoting inclusive excellence. A Master’s or PhD degree in computer science or a closely related discipline is required by date of hire.
