Description of Work:

Administrative and Operational Support (30%):

The Program Manager provides general administrative and operational support to Center’s directors, such as the following:
• managing correspondence, calendars/scheduling of meetings using Outlook.
• making/submitting travel arrangements.
• submitting and tracking travel reimbursements.
• processing invoices and payment of honoraria or stipends using Carolina Connect.
• ordering supplies.
• maintaining up to date the center CRM for tracking of center contacts and event participants.
• tracking and maintaining donor information using Davie.

Communication (40%):

The Program Manager will be responsible for managing aspects of communication for the Center including:
• serving as a point of contact for event participants, attendees, leadership council members and prospective members.
• communicating via email and phone with center directors, fellows, alums, KFBS faculty/staff and industry leaders who participate in Center programs as speakers or facilitators.
• helping with event promotion by creating electronic and print flyers, posters, and slide (PowerPoint) (with assistance from web designer).
• helping with leadership council recruitment by creating electronic and print flyers (with assistance of web designer), drafting/managing surveys.
• drafting news & media updates related to center, director and fellow activity.
• drafting quarterly newsletter and period subscriber emails and manage distribution of these in conjunction with Kenan Institute staff.
• updating the center website and online event listings using Wordpress and in conjunction with Kenan Institute External Affairs team
• assisting with writing of reports, such as an annual report of activities and outcomes for Kenan Institute.
• update center’s social media cites.

Event coordination (20%):

The Program Manager will be responsible for supporting center events including:
• attend planning meetings, take/manage planning notes.
• sending out thank you gifts to event speakers.
• help draft CPE/CLE approval documentation.

Additional duties (10%):

Successful candidates will demonstrate:
· public or corporate accounting and tax related experience and knowledge strongly preferred.
· strong organizational, communication and time-management skills.
· attention-to-detail.
· excellent grammar and writing skills and the ability to be tactful, concise and clear in written and verbal communications.
· a strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
· strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Salesforce and PowerPoint.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from appropriately accredited institutions. Public accounting or corporate tax industry knowledge or experience preferred.
