Description
This position will be split between providing direct care to clients of the clinic (50% time) and providing Peer Support Training and Greater Resilience Information Toolkit (GRIT) development and training (50% time).

The Veterans Health and Trauma Clinic (VHTC) provides services to survivors of psychological trauma using evidence-based practices in treatment.  The target populations are active duty and retired veterans, first responders, family members, trauma survivors, and others who are suffering from symptoms of combat/deployment stress, Postraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), mood disorders or burnout.  Services may include assessments, individual trauma treatment, group therapy, family therapy, biofeedback and crisis intrevention.  Clincian will maintain their caseload consistent with the requirements of payors, laws, ethical, quality and contemporary professional standards.  

Clinician must be licensed and practicing mental healthcare providor in the State of Colorado and trained and experienced in a variety of evidenced based trauma treatments (i.e., EMDR, CPT, TF-CBT, DBT, etc.)  Clinician qualifications include extensive knowledge about trauma including PTSD, psychological disorders, substance use disorders, suicide risks, major depression, SPMI and trauma specific challenges including family violence and anger issues.

This position also involves providing support to the Director of Community Training and Empowerment for the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience in the areas of Peer Support Training and developing/training in the GRIT Resilience programing.  More specifically, clinician will assist in and conduct training for Peer Support and GRIT trainings, provide clinical suppport consulting to peer supporters, and provide training to the commuity and organizations on resilience, wellness and mental health.  Finally, this position will also include reaching out to organizations that might be interested in peer support to potentially generate new contracts.

Job Duties:

Provide direct clinical services to veterans, first responders, trauma survivors and their families using evidenced-based practices in treatment.Deliver and document services according to the policies of the clinic in a timely manner using the systems available (such as Electronic Medical Records and Scheduling).Participate in team meetings, staffings, and clinical consultations.Ensure compliance with clinical research protocols and overall clinical services research objectives.Provide support for current Peer Support program participants.Deliver Peer Support Initial Certification curriculum training developed by the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience to program participants as well as necessary on-going/follow-up training. Provide clinical support consulting to trained Peer Supporters.Serve as a liaison between the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience and the contracted agencies utilizing its Peer Support Program. Job Competencies:

Extensive knowledge about work related stress and burnout challenges and related issues facing frontline providers, first responders, military, and healthcare professionals including common psychological disorders (i.e., PTSD, substance abuse and dependence, suicide risks, major depression, anxiety disorders), trauma specific challenges including acute stress responses, and primary trauma outcomes including family violence, and anger issues. Training and experience with Department of Defense clinical guidelines and the recommended evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and/or Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).Training and experience with developing and conducting trainings, consulting with diverse agencies, program development, and working directly with a wide range of behavioral health providers.Training and experience with risk assessment and crisis intervention strategies.Ability to provide training on resilience, wellness, and mental health to community and organizations.This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

What We Offer:

Salary Range: Generally starting at $50,000 - $65,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

This position is dependent on the availability of auxiliary revenues funding.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently licensed in Colorado as a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • Master's degree in Clinical Psychology or other behavioral health field
  • Three (3) years post Master's degree experience providing clinical interventions related to post traumatic stress, working with military,1st responder, frontline workers, other health professional clients, and at least one DoD recommended treatment protocol (EMDR, CPT, PE) 
  • Two (2) years of experience developing and providing trainings on psychological topics
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    Four (4+) years post Master's degree experience providing clinical interventions related to post traumatic stress, working with military, 1st responder, frontline workers, other health professional clients, and at least one DoD recommended treatment protocol (EMDR, CPT, PE)Experience with at least 2 DOD recommended treatment protocols (EMDR, CPT, PE, TF-CBT) Physical Qualifications:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. Employee is occasionally required to move.  Tasks may involve using a computer screen continuously for long periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
