HAPSS Clinical Applications Analyst Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 22560728 Full Time 8AM - 5PM Commensurate with Experience Position Information Under the general supervision of the Senior Administrative Director for Student Health Services (SHS), with a dotted line reporting to Director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), the Health and Psychological Student Services (HAPSS) Clinical Applications Analyst is responsible for the configuration and operation for the (HAPSS) electronic medical records and operational applications. This includes but is not limited to Point and Click, Pro-Pharm and other specialized applications. The position builds strong analytical and statistical metrics and measures using integrated healthcare data from varied sources; works with internal and external customers to provide data solutions. Analyzes requirements for systems and interfaces in terms of cost, benefit, timeliness, effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. Exercises judgment in selecting the appropriate course of action and levels of consultation for the problem and issue resolution, and follows procedural requirements for authorization and approval when required. Experience Experience Requirement Demonstrated experience in a HIPAA or FERPA regulated field. Required 2 - 4 years of related experience. Special Conditions Special Condition Requirement Must pass a background check. Required Shift Work (hours outside standard Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM work hours) Required Update to clinical systems must be conducted outside on standard hours. Updates occur periodically. Required
Minimum Requirements Ability to create adhoc reports using relational database and data-mining software and other programs such as SQL, SAS and other statistical tools
Demonstrated experience in analysis, process and workflow design, research, installation/implementation and support of EMR systems.
Knowledge and practical use of statistical methods used in complex analyses
Detail oriented, with demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, set schedules, and complete projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Strong computer skills including Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
IT and operational knowledge of clinical or revenue cycle processes in one or more areas of a hospital, clinic, or business office
Working knowledge of clinical applications systems and functions, including development, implementation, user support, maintenance, and system testing and evaluation.
Tolerance of ambiguity and ability to function well in a fast paced environment with multiple stake holders
Strong project management skills with the proven ability to meet project deadlines
Demonstrated interpersonal and customer-service skills to collaborate productively on a team and to provide training and support to clinical providers and staff.
Effective written and oral communication with comfort in making formal presentations to small, medium, and large sized groups
Excellent organization skills
Exceptional analytical and research skills to identify issues, determine sources of information, synthesize data from multiple sources to find, evaluate and recommend solutions and alternatives
Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communications, with the ability to convey technical information to clinical users in a clear and concise manner.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose problems and develop multiple options for effective and timely resolution of issues and problems.
Ability to manage in a bureaucratic organization with skill and tact using outstanding interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications Advanced understanding of Healthcare operations and structure, general requirements of an integrated delivery system, and use of IT applications in the practicing healthcare environment.

Working knowledge of departmental systems and procedures for documentation and reporting, with the ability to perform tests, and to analyze, and interpret relevant data.
