Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.

Unit Position Summary

Looking for two interns (20 hours per week) at the undergraduate training level to help in writing and analyzing case studies of patients from NICU sequencing initiatives. Student should have an interest in medical genetics, whole genome sequencing, and RNAseq. Previous genetics training/class is desired but not required. Students should be from the Grand Rapids or west Michigan colleges/universities.

The successful candidate(s) will work an estimated 20 hours per week on case studies and data analysis from whole genome sequencing and RNAseq of rare disease/disorder patients. Student will use protein modeling software.

Desired Qualifications

Candidates should be familiar with Excel and R, and should have already completed an undergraduate level genetics course.
